The Quartier International in Ville Marie seeks to enhance and promote the development of Montreal’s international vocation. It also seeks to position Montreal as an authority in design, architecture and cultural activities. The project has been accompanied by the refitting of the Victoria Square, the widening of the sidewalks, the realignment of the streets, the modification of some of the urban designs and the addition of trees and urban furniture. 
The Quartier has the highest concentration of international activities and organizations in Canada. It also has the Palais des Congrès de Montréal with its colourful glass facade, that welcomes hundreds of thousands of convention goers from all over the world every year.
