  • The seats must be adjusted to their height and weight until they are big enough to properly wear seat belts.
  • Cyclists

  • Cyclists must comply with the same rules of the road as vehicle drivers, except for the following:
  • They must always travel on the extreme right-hand side of the road.
  • They must ride in single file when in groups of two or more.
  • Road Safety Measures - Peel Street (Downtown Montreal) Drunk Driving

  • The maximum legal alcohol to blood ratio for driving is 0.08%.
  • Pedestrians

  • Pedestrians must avoid crossing between two intersections.
  • They must respect pedestrian signs installed at intersections. If there are none, they must respect the traffic lights.
  • They must wear reflective clothing in order to be seen clearly if out in the evening or at night.
  • Road Safety Measures - Amherst Street (Montreal Gay Village) Radar Devices

  • Radar detection devices are strictly prohibited and may not be carried or used in automobiles.

  • It is only possible to pass a school bus when the hazard lights are off, once you have made sure that it can be done safely.
  • Road Safety Measures - Crescent Street (Downtown Montreal) Seat Belts

  • Seat belts must be worn at all times, by all passengers, in both the back and front seats.
