Jolicoeur Street

Jolicoeur Street

Sections of what is now the Jolicoeur Street were once called Du Bois, Marie-Anne, Clovis and Wedgewood.

Then, in honour of J.-MoÏse Jolicoeur, founder of the Notre Dame du Perpétuel Secours parish and church in 1906, the road was named Jolicoeur Street in 1914.

Today the street runs through Côte-Saint-Paul and Ville-Émard in Le Sud-Ouest borough.

Designed by Claude Boucher, the Jolicoeur metro station opened in 1978.

The station is located on the Green Line that now runs from Angrignon in LaSalle and Honoré-Beaugrand in Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve. The floor of the platform level of what is called a “normal side platform station” is decorated with a series of 42 circular artworks by the architect.
