Employed in Montreal

Downtown Montreal - Rachel Louise Barry

In my mid-thirties, I (Rachel Louise Barry 2) became part owner of a ladies wear boutique in Saint-Sauveur-des-Monts in the Laurentians. It was called "Les Mignonnettes" because our father called our mother "mignonne" and we girls were his "mignonnettes".

The experience lasted some eight years and gave me the opportunity to profit from the local life style and surroundings. It also enabled me to extend my knowledge in retail, local marketing, buying methods, selling techniques and customer care. I eventually came back to Montreal, worked downtown mostly and had customers in just about every Montreal boroughs and districts.

I eventually joined the Service d'aide à l'exportation (SAE) as commissioner where I contributed to the development of the East part of Montreal. At the SAE I developed services adapted to the requirements of SMEs wishing to sell their products and services to foreign countries, especially the United States.

Enriched by the experience, I subsequently worked another eight years as a private consultant in the development of foreign markets for various small and medium enterprises located in Montreal.

I helped SMEs build international marketing plans and implement them. I also guided them through the financial programs offered by both our governments to help them export their products and services to foreign countries.

Retired in Montreal

During an earlier period of my life I became adventurous and traveled during a few years. I lived in Spain and in England. I visited Europe, particularly France, Portugal and Holland and traveled to several American states. When in need of a rest, I usually do like most of us do, that is fly to some beautiful island for a bit of sun and sand.

de Jumonville Path - Rachel Louise Barry

Montreal has always been a host city and, in international trade, "l'accueil" is considered fundamental and essential.

I now combine business and art - building a web site is also an art - and, accompanied by faithful collaborators (including SBI!), I devote a good many hours every day to the development of several Montreal Kits.

Building MBK on a full time basis is very demanding and time consuming and will probably last another eight years, just like my two other most fulfilling experiences. I might retire then, but I don't know yet. I meet many interesting people and try to collaborate effectively with each and everyone of them. Rachel Louise Barry is now a trademark and needs to be promoted as such, correctly and adequately.

Cordially, Rachel Louise Barry 2.
