Cote-des-Neiges-
Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Borough

Cote-des-Neiges Architecture

The Cote-des-Neiges architecture was mostly built after the Second World War.

Most buildings are low-rise, from 3 to 6 stories.

The area is not considered "high-end", so lodgings are generally affordable.

The territory offers a current architectural framework and an urban landscape with many differences. Urban territories seldom present so many differences like Cote-des-Neiges does.

As a whole, Côte-des-Neiges offers a more modern architecture than is usually found in Montreal, less elaborate, more basic, more functional and not at all unpleasant to look at and to live in.

Cote-des-Neiges Institutions

The Cote-des-Neiges institutions are very present. Famous institutions such as the Oratoire Saint-Joseph and the Hôpital général juif are located in the borough.

The institutional function is also represented by the Cote-des-Neiges Cemetery Montreal as everybody calls it. It's real name however is Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery.

Because of its proximity with the Collège international Marie de France, the Collège Bréboeuf, the Université de Montréal and its two affiliated schools, the Polytechnique Montréal and HEC Montréal, and because lodgings are generally considered affordable, the district qualifies as a perfect district for students.
