The heart of L'Ile-Bizard is settled around the Saint-Raphaël Archange Roman Catholic church. The church is a pleasant gray stone building built in 1874 with a traditional cemetery churchyard and a handsome presbytery.
Located west of the Island of Montreal, the island offers many and vast green areas. Those who love nature have all they could wish for on this territory including the Cap Saint-Jacques in the southwest, with woods, open spaces and some waterfront and the Bois de l’Île Bizard a larger and denser park that occupies part of the eastern half of the island.
A Place for Strolling
The Rivière-des-Prairies is located between the Island of Montreal and the Île Jésus where Laval has been built.
The "rivière" skirts alongside the north of Sainte-Geneviève and then flows into the St-Lawrence River. A bus service offered by STM Montreal gets you to the island.
Two rivers circle the island, the Lac des Deux Montagnes and the Rivière des Prairies. The Lac des Deux-Montagnes offers all the pleasures associated with water sports, including fishing, short ballads and long journeys.
The lake flows towards the Rivière-des-Milles-Îles, the Rivière-des-Prairies and the Rivière Outaouais or towards the Lac Saint-Louis, to finally reach the St-Lawrence River.
Thank you for visiting L'Île-Bizard. More to come soon.
Images Montreal is a huge project that aims to be the biggest exclusive website of Montreal's skyscrapers, historical buildings and architecture landmarks.
Old historical monuments have a lot of interest as much as new apartment buildings, new skyscrapers or graffitis.
Montreal by Metro
Montreal by Metro is an unofficial website for fans of Montreal's metro system.
Our modern rapid transit system is one of the most architecturally distinctive subway systems in the world.
Unlike many other subway networks, every station in Montreal is distinct.
The system is beautifully decorated with hundreds of pieces of public art, including sculptures, frescoes, and stained glass.
