About forty thousands people go to work in the Old Montreal everyday, mostly in cultural, leisure and sporting activities.
The Vieux-Montréal and the Vieux-Port are privileged areas where professionals and residents intersect.
The residential occupation is back to life after a long period of indifference. A large proportion of the residents hold a university degree and work in management, business or finance.
Art, design and gastronomy are privileged as testified by the many art galleries, boutique hotels and restaurants along its streets. Being the main tourist attraction of Ville Marie, the sector is also its most animated one.
The neighborhood is usually described as being bounded to the west by McGill, to the east by Berri, to the north by St-Antoine, and to the south by the St-Lawrence River. Once the central business district of Montreal now located in Downtown Montreal, St-Paul followed by St-Jacques were its first major commercial streets.
Thank you for visiting Vieux-Montréal. More to come soon.
