This part of Ville Marie known as Shaughnessy Village is located in its western portion, on Ste-Catherine between Atwater and Guy.
This is where the beautiful CCA, the Canadian Centre for Architecture can be found. It's a busy part of town, some say the best.
Usually, people manage to have widely disparate impressions of the same neighbourhood. We could be a bit pleasantly optimistic about it and say that the Village is fairly booming. You're downtown, there's a hum all the time but you still can have your privacy.
It's always easy to speak of the decline and vulnerability of a neighbourhood. But the fact is, Shaughnessy shows an awful lot of resilience. To be sure, the place is not as healthy as it was. There are eyesores and specific problems. But, in general, it's a thriving district serving a thriving population.
Thank you for visiting Shaughnessy-Village. More to come soon.
